Hi, everyone!
Hopefully, this update finds you healthy and enjoying the remainder of summer. As of right now, the cross country season is still set to begin on MONDAY, AUGUST 17th. As you can imagine, however, this season will look very different from previous ones. Practice and meet schedules will be sent out when the FVA schools release more information.
In order to prepare for the upcoming season, please complete the following:
Impact (Concussion) Testing - All FRESHMEN, all JUNIORS, those who DID NOT complete a test last year, and anyone who has had a concussion since their last baseline test, NEED to complete this test. Cassy Timmers, our Athletic Trainer, sent an email to those who, according to her records, need to take the test. If you believe that you were missed, please let Cassy know. All of the instructions needed to complete the test are included in her email. Please complete this test PRIOR to AUGUST 10th.
Please see the attached note from Mr. Werner regarding this year's Code of Conduct Meeting. When a link is provided, we will make it available on our website. Appleton North Student-Athletes & Parents/Guardians, The originally scheduled in-person 2020 Fall Code of Conduct Meeting on Sunday, August 2nd will NOT be occurring. Instead, a Code Meeting Screen Cast will be produced and will be provided to all interested students to view. Once viewed, students & parent/guardians will be given a link or provided with a Code Meeting Verification Form to sign and return to Appleton North. No student will be held out of tryouts or the first practices if this is not completed. However, there will be an eventual deadline for students to have this requirement met. This deadline will be provided in future communications from the coach/adviser. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thanks and Go Lightning! If you know anyone who is interested in running cross country who has not subscribed to the website, please encourage them to do so. Thank you for your help!
